An international project in Malta organised by Curtain Raiser Theatre Troupe Funded by the EU youth program, this project was concerned with the theme of European Citizenship. Five Maltese participants and Patrick Vella as workshop leader, joined 25 other participants and 5 workshop leaders here in Malta to work together in theatre workshops on the theme European Citizenship. The countries that participated in this experience were Czech Republic, Austria, France, Belgium, Poland and Malta. These workshops took place between the 24th and 30th March 2005. The workshops led to various site specific performances at St. James Cavalier on the 30th March. The public was invited to visit the place to see the artists in action all over St. James Cavalier. The various performances that filled the place with vibrant action and energy, were free of charge for all those who wanted to witness the results of this exciting exercise. Apart from taking part in workshops, the participants also engaged themselves in social work. The Maltese participants were responsible in taking care of the stay of the five foreign groups while here in Malta. The reason why this event was organized during Easter time was to expose the foreign participants to some of our traditions, such as, Good Friday procession and other activities. The organization of this project was in the hands of Curtain Raiser Theatre Troupe with Patrick Vella at the lead, together with his team, Graziella Galea Pirotta, Marcelle Bonnici and Sarah Suda.
