Ref 15: AFRICAN DANCE MOVEMENT WORKSHOP '06

Some ice breaking, a quick call-off of names and Fafa took us to another dimension … Africa.

In Madagascar, people use singing and dancing all the time. They sing and dance in every situation they encounter and in everything they do. She explained and showed ways how a person can communicate through movement and song.

It all appeared so easy seeing Fafa doing these moves but somehow it was a little more complicated when it was our turn to give it a go. I wonder why!! We enjoyed every second of it and all kept trying hard to try and get the swiftness and agility with which Fafa was moving. Well, it will have to take quite a couple of other workshops and training to get anywhere close to what Fafa was showing us.

The whole workshop which was 2hrs long helped us understand more the movement of the body together with the voice.
