Towards the end of Summer 2009, Curtain Raiser took the opportunity of organising a summer party for children and their families. This spectacular event took place at Ta'Qali's national park which had been kindly sponsored by MRRA for the event.
Throughout the evening, the children were able to enjoy the atmosphere of a children's disco, with a dance floor, DJ, music and disco lighting, whilst at the same time have their face painted, do some arts and crafts or even have a balloon modelled just for them. On the dance floor the children were joined by a number of different Mascot characters such as Winnie The Pooh, Piglet, Dora, Noddy and many many more characters, amongst whom was Green Gary, the Mascot for Green Pak who also sponsored the event.
As well as the above mentioned activities, the children had the chance to watch two shows inside the Greek-style theatre at the park itself. The shows received large amounts of audiences and were hugely enjoyed by all those who attended.
Overall, the event was a success, with families demanding that there be more activities of this type for their children. This has now inspired Curtain Raiser to hold a similar event during the festive season.
